PARTIAL DENTURE VS. DENTAL BRIDGE

From dentures to bridges, our dentists are dedicated to ensuring you have the best new teeth for your smile

Our dentists are committed to making sure you have great teeth for your smile, whether that requires dentures or bridges. There are various options available when replacing several teeth at once. Dental bridges are a fixed solution that can replace up to four missing teeth in a row as opposed to partial dentures. They function by fastening dental crowns to the front and back of your prosthetic teeth. You can firmly anchor your new teeth in place by placing those crowns on the surrounding teeth that are not affected by your tooth gap. Patients who prefer a more permanent solution than removable dentures should consider bridges. But we advise partial dentures in cases when there are more than four missing teeth or missing teeth that aren't precisely lined up in a row. As long as you still have enough strong, healthy teeth to assist keep them in place, partial dentures can restore as many teeth as you need in any order. Otherwise, a missing smile can easily be replaced with complete dentures. Regardless of the kind you require, dentures can seem just as authentic and natural as bridges. Additionally, dentures are typically less expensive than bridges. At Nu Dentistry Cypress, we want to ensure that our patients have the right options for their needs. Not sure which option is best for you? Feel free to reach out to us at (832) 930-7747  to discuss your options with our team.

OUR REMOVABLE DENTURE OPTIONS

No two smiles are the same, so our dentists ensure your denture matches yours perfectly

PARTIAL DENTURES

Our experts can replace any number of teeth that aren't all on one arch at once with partial dentures. And unlike bridges, these teeth don't have to be adjacent to each other for your smile to be totally restored. Your remaining teeth, along with the organic contours of your gums and jaw, serve as support for partial dentures. For more security, metal clasps can be added.

COMPLETE DENTURES

Partial dentures won't work if you are missing all of your teeth. At this stage, complete dentures are what you'll need. Your replacement teeth can stay in their proper positions even without the support of your original teeth by latching on to the contours of your gums and jaw. These dentures can slide in and out of position with ease and comfort if they are tightly fitted.

Immediate Dentures

You might be able to leave your tooth extraction procedure with brand-new teeth if you choose instant dentures. Unlike with permanent dentures, where the molds are created after the extraction. However, if your gums and bones change with time, you might need to have your immediate dentures changed or corrected.

Implant-Supported

Dentures that are supported by implants are an option for patients who wish for more stability with their speech and bite. Implants will be surgically fixed metal posts or screws that bond to your jawbone. They are attached to your dentures by a component referred to as an abutment. Your new teeth can be removed, but the implants cannot.

PERMANENT DENTURES: NEXT-LEVEL TOOTH REPLACEMENT

We want you to fall in love with your new smile- see if denture implants are right for you

Without a tooth to provide as a root and support, the jawbone beneath the excised teeth begins to contract. In order to accommodate your evolving smile, standard removable dentures are created with ease of denture repair and relining in mind. With implant-supported dentures, our dentists can, however, halt this process right away. The same pressure that your natural teeth exert is provided by dental implants, and your mouth cooperates with them to keep your permanent denture more solid and secure. Over time, it also helps keep your smile entire and healthy. Permanent dentures are adaptable to patients' demands, just like removable dentures. They can replace a single missing tooth or the entirety of a smile. All-On-4 is one of the most widely used solutions for full-mouth implant dentures. Your entire mouth is supported by these fixed dentures thanks to four dental implants positioned along the jaw. The best part is that a denture supported by implants can last significantly longer than conventional dentures—possibly even forever.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the greatest solutions for permanently replacing lost teeth when properly placed and completed. Dental implants serve as a replacement for the natural root of your tooth. This stops the degradation of bones. In addition, having dental implants as replacement teeth will keep all of the nearby teeth healthy, allowing you to keep your natural teeth. Dental implants can last a lifetime if properly taken care of and maintained.

Crowns & Bridges

As a restoration procedure, crowns and bridges assist patients in regaining the functioning of their teeth. People who have weak, missing, or rotting teeth can benefit from this procedure. In contrast to dental bridges, which are used to replace one or more lost teeth, dental crowns will help your individual teeth look wonderful and regain their functioning.

Dentures FAQ

Each patient’s denture cost can vary depending on the materials used, the type of denture, the number of missing teeth, and if they need immediate dentures. Additionally, permanent dentures can have other factors involved with dental implants, including the number of implants and whether bone grafting is required. Many dentures are covered by insurance, but Nu Dentistry also offers other financing options to ensure you don’t have to worry about your treatment’s affordability.

Absolutely! Our dentures are made from high-quality white porcelain and gum-pink acrylic, so your new teeth will look just as natural as your old smile. Plus, we use molds and impressions of your mouth to ensure your denture always matches the unique shape of your smile perfectly.

While your dentures may feel comfortable enough, you shouldn’t sleep with your dentures in if they’re not fixed in place. Removing your dentures during the night gives your gums time to relax and recover after the daily pressures and force of your bite on the soft tissues. Before bed, you should also brush your dentures clean before soaking them in a denture cleaner overnight.

Yes. Dentures are incredibly versatile and can restore even a full smile of missing teeth. Complete dentures are designed to restore an entire arch of teeth simultaneously, molding themselves to your gums’ and jawbone’s natural shape to hold them steady.

Yes. In non-dental emergencies, we can prepare immediate dentures using a mold of your smile taken weeks in advance before your teeth are pulled. By your appointment time, you leave with a new set of teeth. However, immediate dentures are only temporary. After teeth are extracted, your smile will undergo rapid changes as your mouth adapts to life with missing teeth. These dentures will allow you to eat, speak, and live normally while your mouth and jaw stabilize, which usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks. From there, we will begin preparing your more permanent denture.

Dentures are great for restoring your smile’s appearance and function. Not only do they look great, but they can easily help improve your self-esteem as well as your ability to eat and speak properly. Partial dentures also prevent your remaining teeth from moving out of alignment to help fill the empty gap in your smile. Overall, dentures are also the most affordable way to replace missing teeth, especially when restoring multiple teeth at once.

The Best Dentist In Cypress, Texas
Sandra Archuleta

We have been looking for a family dentist for a long time, we have tried a bunch of places but nothing felt quite like home. Not too long ago we stumbled upon Nu Dentistry and met Dr. Ali. Not only was he professional, kind, and gentle, but he always finds a way to fit us in when we need an appointment. He’s also pretty funny! I appreciate that he takes the time to explain what he’s doing, before he does it. That really puts me at ease.

I usually have such huge anxiety when I go to a dentist appointment, which means I always put off visits until the last minute to disastrous consequences. However, Dr. Loggins helped me with sedation, so the entire process was a breeze!
